Between Me and You
Young and Wilder was strictly a party band at our college in Portland. But when I wrapped on Beasts of the Southern Wild in New Orleans in the summer of 2010, I played Jake Rabinbach some new songs I was writing and he wanted to produce them in Memphis at High/Low Studio, run by Toby and Jake Vest. Caroline, my bandmate, flew out to meet us there and we recorded some of our college bangers and some of the newer ones I was writing too.
Shipwreck Spoils
Six months later we went back to Memphis to record the sequel. It had been exceedingly hot the previous summer when we recorded Between Me and you; this time it was frigid. The album reflects that, it was a dark winter. Max Comaskey flew out to meet us there and played bass on the record.
